The Self-Portrait Refugee project has its origins in England where it was a big success after the images and messages of thousands of migrants and refugees were exhibited in a national campaign. Following in the footsteps of this project, Artemisszió Foundation is looking for migrants living in Hungary who are interested in creating their own messages and portraits. The main aim of the project is to bring migrants living in Hungary closer to the majority society.

There are two ways to take part in the project:

Those who can create their own self-portrait without support can submit a photo, painting or drawing.

The second option is to work on self-portraits collectively with the help of trainers. Artemisszió will provide the tools and the venue for the training.

The project runs from April 13 to May 11, 2008. Training sessions will take place every Sunday (altogether five sessions will be organized).
